The surface of the earth is full of electrons and we absorb them through our bare feet. Most people live isolated from this absolutely free and abundant form of healthcare. Our shoes and homes insulate us from the earth.
Connecting to the earth improves circulation, which brings more oxygen to your cells. This reduces inflammation, speeds healing, reduces pain and boosts immunity.
Walking on the beach with my feet in the water is one of my favorite things to do but this year has been busy and beachwalks were few and far between. My sleep has also been getting worse and worse this year.
I decided two weeks ago to make the time to get my toes back in the sand and test the theory of earthing. After a few short walks on the beach, I noticed my sleep returning to normal. No more tossing and turning! I am waking less during the night and sleeping more deeply. In the morning I am rested and not feeling creaky. I have more energy during the day.
My frequent beachwalking had been reconnecting me to the earth and helping my insomnia. The salt water of the ocean actually enhances the effect.

Castor Oil Packs the perfect remedy for cool weather pain!
Castor oil packs are often used to improve liver function and lymph circulation. They are also effective for injury and pain and meet all my criteria for home remedies - easy, affordable, & effective. The supplies are castor oil, a piece of soft cotton, saran wrap, and a heating pad. Generously soak the cotton with castor oil and place it on the area to be treated then cover the cotton with saran wrap. Turn the heating pad to a comfortable setting and place it over the pack for 30-90 minutes. Sit back and relax while the oil soothes your aches & pains.
Wear old clothes as castor oil stains. If you are sitting on nice furniture, protect it with a towel.
I cut up old cotton clothes for rags and use those for my soft cotton. Flannel also works.
Saran wrap helps the oil penetrate and also keeps everything in place.
You can rub your favorite liniment mixed with castor oil into your skin first.
Take advantage of clothing to keep it in place - waistbands, sleeves, . . .
You can re-use your pack! Use a glass jar, plastic bag, or simply bundle it in the saran wrap. Just add a little extra oil each time you use it.
Most heating pads have a warning not to fall asleep while using them. They can cause serious burns.
